What is Every One Every Day about?

Practical ‘hands on’ sessions brought to you by local residents. Every One Every Day brings together people from different parts of the North End neighbourhood to create and learn from one another. These projects involve sharing spaces, skills and resources. They range from batch cooking and community meals, getting outside to explore the neighbourhood, sharing cultural knowledge and traditions, as well as making, crafting, building, repairing and much more.

Support with getting things going in your neighbourhood. The Every One Every Day team is here to help take care of all the essentials such as finding spaces, purchasing materials, ensuring the health and safety and inviting others to take part. We work with residents to surface their ideas and bring them to life in the neighbourhood. Come talk to our project designers to spark more ideas around future projects that we can grow together.

Halifax (Big Harbour)

Halifax is on Mi’kmaw territory. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia. Their culture and presence have nurtured and continue to nurture this place. The partners behind Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk honour our ancestors, the peoples and the land of the Mi’kmaw Nation.

Why We Do This

In acknowledging the traditional territories of First Peoples, you are inviting those who are gathered with you to build awareness of Indigenous presence and land rights in everyday life, and to deepen their knowledge of the land’s richness and significance to all living things. Land acknowledgements are a sign of respect and a means to begin your journey towards a more reconciled future. Learn more at www.native-land.ca

Who & When

In June 2022, Every One Every Day Kjipuktuk/Halifax opened the doors of its Neighbourhood Shop on Gottingen St. Shortly after this time, we worked with our team, and the residents who were taking part, to capture our story to date. As the work continues to develop and grow, so too do the stories that are emerging, and the relationships nurtured along the way. We invite you to watch this short film of our story, at a moment in time along our journey. This film was produced by Terrence Taylor Media.

“We need each other, and with the right opportunities, the right invitation, at the right time, in the right space, we simply can’t resist being together.”
