Our Printing Press Traveled to Debert, NS with Atelihai Inuit!
In October 2024, the Atelihai (Welcome) Inuit program from the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre used our relief printing press during their 3rd annual gathering, held in Debert, Nova Scotia.
With the support of Michael, Holly, Kieran, and Jenn from OSO Planning + Design, community members learned how to carve, ink, and print their own designs onto fabric. Duplicates of these fabric prints were collected and community member Cora, sewed them together to create a beautiful inuksuk. The finished art piece now hangs proudly in the Atelihai Inuit program area at the Friendship Centre.
Atelihai Inuit is a program of the Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre that supports Inuit families in the Maritime Provinces through cultural programming and transition support.
