Collaborative Business at Every One Every Day is about doing business differently.

What is Collaborative Business?

Through the Collaborative Business Program at Every One Every Day, we support opportunities for residents to collaborate on business ideas in a way that is adaptable, low risk, and rooted in community values – all while approaching business through an equitable lens.

Every One Every Day is a space for residents to explore what’s possible, together. When we collaborate, we keep local resources flowing and create real change close to home. This is what building a circular economy in Kjipuktuk looks like: grounded in connection, care, and collaboration.

Our program is designed to support collectives through learning, making, and selling across multiple 8-week programs. Each cycle is part-time and flexible, providing access to shared workspace, tools, and a supportive network to help bring your ideas to life. You'll work alongside neighbours to explore possibilities, build practical skills, and reach goals that matter to your collective. You shape the pace and direction, and we’re here to support you every step of the way!

Success comes from showing up, sharing responsibility, and making progress together, driven by the creativity and commitment of the group.

Our Collaborative Business at Every One Every Day is built on these principles:

  • No selection process

  • Starts where participants are at

  • Collaborative, part-time schedule

  • No start-up costs

  • Based on teamwork

Benefits of joining our Collaborative Business program:

  • Support from experienced experts

  • Opportunity to prototype products or services in the local economy

  • Low personal risk

  • Access to sufficient spaces, equipment, and materials

Why does Collaborative Business Matter?

Every One Every Day is rooted in the idea that building an ecosystem of inclusive and meaningful participation in and among neighbourhoods supports co-created, cooperative communities.

Collaborative Business is one of the ways we strengthen local connections and build a sense of shared purpose. By creating inclusive ways to get involved, we’re supporting residents to connect with, and shape local economies rooted in community values, practical needs and shared goals.

Why Join a Collaborative Business Program?

It’s a chance to build real skills, explore creative ideas, and bring meaningful projects to life, all while connecting with neighbours and contributing to a stronger local economy.

Here’s what happens when you get involved:

  • Connect & Collaborate

Meet neighbours with shared interests, build common goals as a group, and co-create projects that matter to you and your community.

  • Learn & Grow

Our programs include skill-sharing, peer support, and sessions with local entrepreneurs and specialists – all designed to help you take the next step.

  • Explore in a Supportive Space

Starting something new can feel overwhelming. Our Collaborative Business program offers a supportive space to try things out with no big risks – just opportunities to grow and discover.

  • Turn Ideas into Income

Whether through a shared brand, co-selling, or collaborative services, our program helps you explore pathways to earn while doing what you love!

What’s a Circular Economy?

A circular economy means wasting less and sharing more. Instead of single-use thinking, we look for ways to reuse, repair, and repurpose — keeping materials, resources, and knowledge circulating in the community.

It’s not just about being environmentally friendly — it’s about local resilience. Buying from each other, using what’s already here, and growing systems of mutual support.

An example of our approach: Our Collaborative Business Program, Threaded Together, sourced nearly all of their fabric from donations or second-hand materials. This lowered their costs, created a more affordable clothing line, and kept good textiles out of the landfill. That’s circular thinking in action!

Different Ways to Collaborate

There’s no singular way to do Collaborative Business. Here are examples of the different models of Collaborative Business:

  1. Collaborative Brand – Individual makers selling under one shared brand

  2. Collaborative Design – A group co-designs and sells together

  3. Collaborative Production – An idea from one person, produced by the team

  4. Collaborative Shop – A shared space to sell as a group
